Last weekend we decided to take a break from the beach and explore more of what the island has to offer. We decided that the Bishop Museum was at least worth a look and I'm so glad we did!:) This place was FULL of Hawaiian Culture history and was even fun for the kids. The highlights for them were the Elmo exhibit and the mock Volcano, while the highlights for Shad and I were probably a little different.
The week was full of prep for a little boy who is headed to school in 2 weeks! We went to Target and bought all of his school supplies and went to his school to buy all of his uniforms:) I didn't cry either time....well I think I was on the verge of tears at Target but that was because my daughter might be the worst child in the world to take shopping! Anyways Preston's school is literally right around the corner so we will be able to walk everyday which is just another bonus. He is really really excited and so am I:)
Bonnie's week was full of fun things for her brother. She is the type of kid that whatever brother gets she needs it to or whatever brother does Bonnie is taking the next step to do it too. Him going to school without her is going to be hard, but I am looking forward to the month that we are going to have together before grandma and the baby come. She will be 2 in only a couple of weeks!
Shad had an "upgrade" in his job which means that he won't be doing good old document control anymore. Now as to what he is going to be doing I'm not sure, but whatever it is I'm sure he will do it well:)
Last night after I told him about the organization system I set up for our living room clutter he leaned over to Preston and told him I was "nesting" and I think he is right! I don't have much more energy but the clutter around this house is starting to get to me. I also notice EVERY piece of dirt that has dared to enter our house. Also we found out that the baby is breech! Of course all of my babies has to do something to feel special...Preston was stuck...Bonnie was in distress...what will this baby do:)
This weekend we are going to hang out with some friends for what I'm sure will be fun times! I will try to remember the camera to take some pictures:) Have a good weekend everyone!

A little sunset beach
I have decided to make more of an effort to update this blog as much as possible. I update facebook quite a bit but for some reason the blog doesn't get that same amount of attention. Any who my goal has always been to update once a week (we all see how great I am at that!) but I have decided to become a little more "realistic" in my goals so........... I have decided to update as much as I can remember.:)
This past weekend we decided to go to our FAVORITE beach (Sunset beach) up on the north shore for a couple of hours. When we got up there the weather was pretty nice and the waves were perfect. The kids sat down and started to play in the sand and I started to think about how far they have already come since moving here to Hawaii.
When we first got here Bonnie wouldn't even sit on the sand, now she is like a little sand monster:) She swims in the ocean back and forth from me to Shad and has even been attempting to put her face in the water. Potty training is next on our list of things to do and since she has already been doing it on her own for awhile now I don't think it is going to take long for her to be out of diapers.
Preston is swimming by himself for short periods in the pool and it will only be a matter of time before he is good enough to go without the vest in the ocean. He is smart, caring, and so awesome with everyone he meets. Only a couple more weeks and my little boy will be a kindergartner.... I know I always said I wouldn't cry when he went to school but man I'm already tearing up, but I think I will blame it on the pregnancy.
I am so glad that I have a husband who is amazing and takes me places that I never thought I would go:) I mean this in so many different ways. He is the best father EVER and he has more patience than I could have ever dreamed! Not to many dads would be OK with fish sticks and totinos pizza for fathers day dinner (We ran out of propane for the steaks!), but he was.
Who would have thought that we would be living in Hawaii and raising 2 and soon to be 3 kiddos? I know I didn't:) But here we are and we are actually surviving for the most part. Last night I actually said I kinda missed the rain and Shad confessed that he was starting to miss the mainland a little bit. I know we are crazy for not absolutely loving it here but being so far away from all the "normal" is kinda hard:) It is good that we have made some AMAZING friends over here that are making life a little more normal everyday. I guess what I'm trying to say is........ COME VISIT US! haha

WOW!!!!!!!!!
So a little birdie recently informed me (her name was Emily Roundy!) that I haven't updated this blog in over a YEAR! So A LOT has happened and instead of boring everyone with all my awesome pictures and stories over the past year I think I will just randomly update different things that have happened in the past year and try really hard to stay caught up with the recent adventures of our Family:)
I will start with Easter this year:)
We are now in Hawaii (for those of you who don't know) and LOVING IT! It is a little hot, but as most people tend to remind me all the time....we live in paradise! People save up for months and years to be able to come to a place that I get to see all the time:) Anyways we live in a community in Ewa Beach called Ewa by Gentry and they have a really cool community group that puts on different events throughout the year including an easter egg hunt. The kids had a fun time but I thought that we needed to be there at 9 and turns out we didn't need to be there until 11:15 so we sat around for a long time. Something else I have noticed about the island lifestyle is things run a little more relaxed when it comes to time...ie dr. appointments that are at 9:15 aren't actually going to start until probably 10 and they are going to last at least an hour:). Here are some fun pictures from our day!

Easter Fun
This year we spent Easter in Vancouver... just Shad, me, and the kids:) It was a little lonely, but all in all it was a great time. Bonnie sported some bunny ears (thanks grandma Cindy and Grandpa Tony) and Preston got to put together a really cool replica of the Flying Dutchman from Pirates of the Caribbean. The neighbors had a garage sale on Saturday and this "little" gem was given to Preston for only a dollar! Might be the best buy we have ever made:)
This was the turkey breast that we had for dinner:) It was my first one so Shad thought it would be a good idea to capture the moment, and I'm secretly glad he did! Everyone liked it even Bons who ate it faster than we could put it on the plate.
Bonnie loves to steal the last few drops from Preston's juice cups. Every time he lays one down she makes a b-line for it and won't let it go until the last drop is gone. I caught him handing it to her this morning after he was finished... such a good big brother:)
